Gambling under control: limits, warning signs, help
Gambling is paid entertainment with an outcome known in advance over the long run: the casino earns, and the player loses on average. Rules worth setting before the first bet
- an amount you would not mind losing entirely — and not a single hryvnia beyond it;
- session length: an alarm or a reminder on your phone;

- a break after a run of losses instead of trying to win it all back at once.
Warning signs
A problem seldom appears out of nowhere. It is time to be wary if thoughts of gambling interfere with work or sleep, if you mislead your family about spending, if stakes creep upwards and you want to put any win straight back on the table. Another signal is the feeling that only the next session can get you out of the red.
Self-exclusion: where it works
Ukraine has a state register of people who have voluntarily given up gambling. However, its protection does not reach everywhere:
